The program

Who the HAFF Crisis and Transitional program supports

The program supports capital works — grants and concessional loans — for crisis and transitional housing across Australia. In broad terms:

  • Who can apply: state, territory and local governments, government-owned corporations, and community housing providers that are registered charities.
  • Who it helps: women and children experiencing family and domestic violence, and young people aged 16–24 at risk of homelessness.
  • What it funds: capital works to build or expand crisis and transitional housing.

No — eligible applicants apply to Housing Australia. We supply the homes to their project. Eligible applicants include governments, government-owned corporations, and registered-charity community housing providers.
Site works, footings, connections, approvals and certification are delivered by your local builder. We coordinate with them so you get one clear project price.
Lead times depend on your unit mix and volume. We confirm exact timing in your quote rather than quoting a figure that may not fit your project.
Yes, where planning permits. Councils typically partner with a registered community housing provider to deliver and operate the homes.
